Following a busy and productive close season Sutton Common Rovers are pleased to announce the start of a new development journey with the inception of two under 18 midweek sides, one playing in the prestigious Bostik League and FA Cup and the other in the Combined Counties League and more local cup competitions.
These teams will compliment our existing Combined Counties U21's side that is moving up to U23's this season.
The Bostik side will be managed and run by Jamie DeCruz and the Combined Counties side by Mark Hargreaves and Darren Brown.
Tyler Chambers and Casey McCabe will be continuing at the helm of the re-branded U23's after a successful first season at U21 level, which saw them finish runners up in three competitions.
Both Under 18 sides will be playing out of the Knights Community Stadium, Sutton Utd, on either Friday or Monday nights alongside the first team. We anticpate the U23s will be playing at Banstead Athletic.
Mark and Darren ave a long history with the club and need no introduction, similarly Tyler and Casey are well known, however Jamie is a new manager to us, so here is a little bit by way of introduction.
Jamie, who is a UEFA B qualified coach, runs JD'S Football School which has close connections with the club.
He has spent the last two years managing the U18's at Sutton United and says he is relishing the prospect of creating and leading our new youth team.
Jamie said 'Im really grateful for the chance - Its an opportunity Im really looking forward to and I can't wait to get started. The club has a tradition of developing young players and I'll be looking for that to continue."
We would like to wish all the guys the very best for the forthcoming season.
