Double delight for the Sunday seniors

By Gary Brigden

Both senior sides moved into the next round of their respective cup competitions this morning, with hard fought wins.

Up at Hannibal Way, Tyler Chambers and his SCR Sunday side moved into the semi-final of the Intermediate Challenge Cup, eventually seeing off Malden Vale by 4-2.

Vale took the lead, before a Charlie Anderson goal levelled things up, and a Jordan Meredith penalty took us into the break 2-1 up. Vale levelled early in the second half, but Chambers nudged us ahead 3-2, and a screamer from Tommy Prescott made it 4-2.

For Justin Salmon and his Sunday A's there was Junior Charity Cup 1st Round success, as they were on the road at AFC Cannons, and returned with an excellent 4-1 win to put us into Round 2.

On target were the prolific Paul Webber, Lewis Young, Liam Holden and an Own goal (weirdly the exact same goalscorers as our 4-1 win away at Alexandra Utd Irons)
