A cagey first half saw little goalmouth action, although Southall were guilty, through Sandro Fernandes of spurning a glorious opportunity at the back post, and Rovers keeper Ollie Ellaway did superbly to turn aside an Adam Louth free kick.
At the other end Rourke Pickford (who was something of an obstacle last year when we played Bedfont Sports), pulled off a tremendous save from a Twum strike.
Both sides had chances in the second half with Twum and Daryl Cooper-Smith going close for Rovers, and Marlon Pinder curling a free kick onto the bar, before Twum latched onto a rebound and calmly slotted beyond the keeper.
Southall threw people forward and were almost rewarded five minutes into stoppage time when a Rowan Vine strike beat Ellaway and cannoned against the bar, and somehow the rebound was put wide with the goal gaping.
This was an excellent win for the lads against top quality opposition, who were bang in-form themselves.
