Sunday seniors preview

By Gary Brigden

Two home games this weekend for the Sunday seniors, with SCR Sunday in county cup action and the A's in league action.

SCR Sunday will be looking to maintain their 100% record this weekend when they host fellow Division Two side Royal Admiral in the Surrey Intermediate Cup.

The two sides have already met twice in the league this season with us picking up a 5-0 win at their place on the opening day, thanks to a Sonny Ayres double, and one each from Tyler Chambers, Louis Chin and Tommy Prescott.

The return match at Hannibal Way again saw us pick up all three points, with goals from Sonny Ayres and Louis Chin giving us a 2-0 win, however that doesn't really tell the full story as for long periods Royal Admiral were much the better side.

Traditionally they have been one of our bogey sides, and picked up three wins over us last season. We have won all nine games this season, whilst Royal Admiral have lost their last two, having won three games on the spin prior to that.

In league action there are a couple of games, and Harrow Sports will expect to move back above us and into top spot, when they host Chessington Sports.

Surrey County FA - Sunday Intermediate Cup - Rd 2

AFC Lanes v Poplar Rovers
Claygate Casuals v Xavelhas FC Senior
SCR Sunday v Royal Admiral
Tolworth FC v Larkspur Rovers First Sunday
Wandgas Sports v Westerham FC Sunday

Division Two

AFC Eagles v South West Lions
Harrow Sports v Chessington Sports

Huge game for SCR Sunday A when they host league leaders AFC Ewell, in what promises to be an excellent encounter. Ewell sit top of the pile with 19 points from eight games, a point ahead of us, from the same number of games.

AFC Ewell are in good form at the moment having won their last six fixtures, the last four being on their travels, so we will have to be at our very best to get anything out of the game.

We are though in decent form ourselves with four straight wins.

Division Five

AFC Cannons v AFC Rio
SCR Sunday A v AFC Ewell
Team H FC v Mondial
