First's into quarter final
The first team eased into the Quarter Final of the Premier Challenge Cup courtesy of a comfortable win over Redhill.
Darren Salmon made one change from the squad that had won at Farnham on Saturday, with Matt Fairbrother in for Andrew White. There were also recalls to the bench for Rory Lewis and Asa Rixon-Nicholls.
The lads got off to a perfect start, when they took the lead inside two minutes. A free kick was played in low by Matt Ferdinando and Daryl Cooper-Smith was on hand to fire home.
We continued to hold the upper hand and increased our lead on ten minutes, with a Matt goal, created by a right wing cross by Auletta and headed home at the back stick by Fairbrother, for his first goal for the club.
We were rampant at this stage, and on the quarter hour Fairbrother pinched the ball off of a Redhill player and crossed to Cooper-Smith, only to see the effort fly just over the bar.
It was 3-0 on 23 minutes when Fairbrother picked up a loose ball inside the Redhill area, somehow wriggled through a couple of challenges and fired home low to the keepers left.
Cooper-Smith hit the post on 27 minutes, and the game then lulled into a spell with little happening, until we struck again just before the interval, Auletta did superbly on the right, and picked out Farrell in the area, and he fired home for his second in three days, and gave us a 4-0 lead at the break.
Darren Salmon made a double change at the break, giving the ever hard-working Ferdinando, and Jeff Addo-Dankwa a break, and introducing Asa Rixon-Nicholls and Rory Lewis into the fray.
Four minutes into the half, and it was 5-0, this time Cooper-Smith was the provider, setting up Auletta who fired home.
We made our final change on the hour, replacing Craig Hastings with Liam Holden.
It has to be said, the second half was fairly non-descript and we were able to ease down and progress to the Quarter Final.
