Last gasp Page earns point

The first team was back in action with an away trip to Guildford city, and moral was high after a great win last Saturday. We made one change from the starting line-up for this game with the returning Jordan Gallagher making his first appearance of the season.
We started of the game a very high pace when only a couple of minutes in we had a penalty shout when Ollie Twum was able to create himself some space out on the wing and utilise it getting in to the box to only be pushed to the floor with the penalty appeal waved away by the ref.
In the 7th minute Ollie Ellaway was called into action when a Guildford city player was able to find a space in between two defenders to make a break on goal to be denied by an outrushing Ellaway. The game was a bit quiet for a while with both teams just trying to get hold of the ball and control the game.
In the 17th minute the lads played some amazing football, it all started when Twum received the ball out of the right wing, he used his pace to find some space to be able to deliver a cross that ended up being collected by a Guildford city player on the edge of the box, Adam Allen was able to deny him with a great timed tackle with the resulting ball finding its way to Josh Uzun in the box who ends up putting his shot straight at the keeper.
In the 34th minute we were awarded a freekick just outside the box when Twum was brought down through on goal with only a yellow card being shown to the Guildford City player. The resulting freekick only ended up with the Liam Beach calmly and easily saving the effort.
We finally broke the deadlock in the 46th minute of the first half when Twum was found out on the right wing and again he was able to create some space between him and defender and delivered a cross into the box, it flicked on to Gallagher at the back post and his shot hit the post and rebounded back out to Uzun who fire home for the opening goal of the afternoon.
Half time came around shortly after we managed to break the deadlock.
In the 55th minute we made our first change of the match with goal score Uzun being replaced by Phil Page. In the 63rd minute Guildford city were able to find their equaliser after a poor defence gave the Bobby Webbe too much room and he scored from distance.
Only 8 minutes later in the 71st minute Guildford were awarded a penalty when Kiye Martin was brought down in the box from a silly tackle that never needed to be made. Martin converted the penalty putting Guildford 2-1 up, while all the celebration was going on Ellaway was shown a yellow card for his protest about the penalty.
In the 77th minute we made our second and third change of the game with Gallagher and Allen being replaced by Matt Auletta and debutant Kyle Henry.
The lads kept going attack after attack trying to find that second goal. Minutes before the end we thought it had been found when Page had managed to get through on goal to slot home to only be ruled out offside by the linesman.
In the 98th minute we were awarded a corner, the resulting corner ended up finding its way to Page who was open in the middle of the box, he managed to find himself some space to slot home from close range with the last kick of the game.
Full time came around the points were evenly shared between both clubs with the game ended 2-2. We now look on to our next game when we welcome high flyers Chertsey Town to Gander Green Lane.
