Maclean penalty is icing on the cake
By Gary Brigden
The first team were back on the road this time in league action against Hanworth Villa in search of another three points.
With twenty minutes gone on the clock no action had happened from either team with both having started the game very poorly, both teams had managed to create some chances but were unable to get anything from them.
In the twenty second minute we had to make our first substitution of the game when the injured Phil Page was replaced by Marlon Pinder.
After thirty-seven minutes Hanworth villa opened the scoring when they were able to find some space from a free kick and scored with the first real chance of the game.
The first half was coming to a close when we were awarded a freekick in the forty seventh minute just outside the Villa box. Josh Uzun delivered a perfect freekick into the box that was met by the head of Guy Baskerville to head home bring us back level.
The first half came to a draw with it being a very close but poor half from both teams, a big 45 minutes to come for both teams with all three points still to play for.
In the fifty first minute we were hit with another injury forcing another sub this time Matt Farrell had to be replaced by Adam Allen.
Only a minute later in the fifty second minute we had taken the lead after a lovely little lobbed pass by Malachi Robinson into the box was bought down by Uzun who smashed home the volley to give us a 2-1 lead.
The game was fully in our control at this point with us constantly putting a lot of pressure on the Villa back four and box to try to extend our lead.
In the seventy sixth minute we made our third and final change with Josh Uzun being replaced by Casey McCabe.
In the eighty eighth minute we were awarded a penalty, up stepped Callum MacLean who calmly smashed the ball into the top left corner of the goal giving us that crucial third goal.
The game came to a close giving us another 3-1 win with a very good second half performance
