The First team were looking to continue on with the positive attitude from the Sutton united game into todays combined counties game against Balham
Kyle Henry and Josh Uzan were both back into the line-up today after missing out against Sutton United.
Both teams started off the game trying to find their feet and take control of possession, but both teams were struggling to create any real chances in front of goal.
The First chance came in the twentieth minute when Balham were able to find some space to attack down the left wing and be able to deliver the ball into the box with it only narrowly rolling wide of the far post.
Only a minute later in the twenty-first-minute Ollie Ellaway was called into action when a Balham player was found in space and through on goal only to be closed down and denied by an on rushing Ellaway to keep the game goalless.
Balham started to control the game putting us under a lot of pressure that was starting to cause silly little mistakes to happen.
Balham opened the scoring in the thirty third minute when they were able to counter attack from our corner that ended up with a through ball being played to an open Balham attacker that slotted past Ellaway at his near post.
Only two minutes later on in the thirty fifth minute Balham struck again after the keeper was able to kick the ball long down the field causing issues for our defence that ended up letting the ball bounce over them that ended up being gathered by a Balham attacker that lobbed the ball over an out rushing Ellaway.
The lads were able to see out the game till half time, a very poor first half from the lads.
The lads came out at the start of the second half a lot better, livelier and with an attitude to want to get back into the game.
We had our first chance of the second half when in the fifty first minute a decent freekick was delivered into the box that was met by Adam Allen that had to call the Balham keeper into action to stop the goal bound header.
In the fifty second minute we made our first change of the game with Kyle Henry being replaced by Kevant Serbony
In the fifty sixth minute we created another chance when Marlon Pinder was able to break down the wing and deliver a ball into the box that is collected by Ollie Twum who’s shot is saved by the balham keeper.
In the sixty fifth minute we made our second chance bring on Neset Bellikli for Ollie Twum
In the seventy second minute we made our third and final change with Phil Page replacing Matt Tanton.
In the eightieth minute only being on the field for eight minutes Page was able to find the back on the net after bring down a long ball and managing to out strength the Balham defender to slot the ball under the keeper.
Only a minute later in the eighty first minute and the game was level, the ball was lofted into the box that was brought down by Uzan into the path of Page to hit first time slotting home his second of the game.
In the eighty-fifth-minute play was stopped when Serbony went down with a serious injury calling the end of his night.
In the ninetieth minute a freekick was delivered perfectly into the box that was met and brought down by Allen who passed the ball to Malachi Robinson who hit the ball first time with a screamer into the far-right side of the goal leaving the keeper no chance.
The game came to a close and the lads had produced an amazing second half comeback securing another three big points.
