Rovers took a huge step toward confirming their step 4 status, when they picked up an excellent 2-0 win over Chipstead on this afternoon.

Sam Morgan made two changes to the line up from the side that lost narrowly to Hanworth Villa, with the returning Sam Roberts, and Aaron Jenkins back in the side.

Rovers played with poise and purpose, and set about their visitors from the off, but had to wait until five minutes before the break when Jayden Smith struck his second goal in two games to put Rovers into a half time lead.

Breathing space was achieved on the hour when Smith whipped in a cross, which was half cleared and thundered home by Ashley Sheppard.

Chipstead forced a couple of late chances, but good defence kept them at bay, and Rovers secured a 2-0 win.

Rovers are now up to 15th, 18 points clear of the drop zone.
