MANAGEMENT

Sam Morgan

Manager

No pressure, but our first ever non-Salmon manager, Sam stepped into the hot seat at the start of the season, having played a huge part in turning the changing room and fortunes around at the back end of last season. Popular with players and committee alike, the club is in safe hands moving forward with Sam. Previously assistant manager at Epsom & Ewell and Hayward Heath Town to name but two of his sides.

Reece Turner

Assistant Manager

Formerly at Raynes Park Vale and Tooting Bec, Reece joined Sam’s backroom staff over the summer and has proved hugely popular with the players. Very knowledgable about the game, and an inate ability to keep calm when others might be getting caught up in the moment. Has taken the reins on the odd occasion when Sam is “unavailable”!

Liam Joyce

Coach

Quite simply a club legend. Liam managed our successful Surrey South East Combination reserve team for several seasons, before illness took him away from the game. Given a 20% chance of survival, the fact Liam is still here and now cancer free tells you everything you need to know about the man. Having someone with that drive and fight on the sidelines is inspirational to all of us. Add into the fact he is a top top man and you have a great person on the sidelines.

GOALKEEPERS

James Dillon

Hugely talented keeper who initially signed on dual registration with National League South side Chelmsford City in the 2021/22 season. Wandered off to try his hand elsewhere last season before returning to play a huge part in our survival, and picked up a host of Player of the Season awards. Committed to SCR this season, and has been responsible for some top drawer saves. A great lad to have around the club and his leadership has helped shape a happy changing room.
Debut: 22/12/2021 v Chipstead (ILSC)

Sam Roberts

Young goalkeeper signed on loan from Sutton Utd.
Debut: 20/1/24 – A v Southall (ILSC)

Louis Erotokritos Staussi

Young goalkeeper with an amazing attitude and recipient of our Clubman of the Year award last season. Works with the more experienced keepers in training and on matchdays, except when he is out at Forest Row in the Southern Combination Division One, earning vital experience in senior football. Debut: still to come

DEFENDERS

Ben Holden

Anyone who knows the club knows we always have a Holden in the squad, and Ben is a second cousin of our record appearance holder Liam. Joined from Haywards Heath Town during the close season. Hugely versatile young player who is happy anywhere across the backline, or marauding around the midfield breaking up play and generally being a nuisance. Odd fact about Ben is that his dad played for SCR when we were just a Sunday side.
Debut: 05/08/2023 v Burgess Hill Town (FA Cup)

Bertie Lloyd

Signed at the start of last season from Merstham, and despite a lot of interest over the summer has stayed loyal to SCR. The human giraffe and a gentle giant, that’s Bertie. Put’s everything on the line every game and rarely loses a header, and chips with the occasional goal. Played a huge role in our survival last season, and has formed an excellent partnership with Simeone this season.
Debut: 06/08/2022 v Fisher (FA Cup)

Antonio Simeone

Vice Captain

It would be hard for you not to have come across Simmo in the non-league world. With an impressive record of promotions and titles, he certainly knows how to get the job done. Not sure is he wants to be Fabio Cannavaro or Steve Bruce but he is Mr Reliable at the back. Joined last season to keep fit for the marathon, having had a spell managing Redhill. Captains the side in the place of the injured Matt Tanton
Debut: 18/03/2023 v Tooting & Mitcham Utd (ILSC)

Tariq Straker

Left sided defender who has been hampered with injury this season. Signed from East Grinstead Town, and possessor of a sweet left foot. Reads the game superbly and has wonderful delivery. Previous clubs include Haywards Heath Town and Epsom & Ewell, working at both with manager Sam Morgan.
Debut: 18/11/2023 v Binfield (ILSC)

Matt Tanton

Captain

Our longest serving current player, Tants is a hugely popular character on and off the pitch. A mainstay in the side that reached the 5th Round of the FA Vase, and achieved promotion following the two Covid hit seasons. Wonderful left foot, great positional sense and an asset to any side. Tants was made captain at the start of the season, and brings experience and positivity to the younger squad members. Currently on the sidelines with an injury.
Debut: 12/08/2017 v Camberley Town (Combined Counties Premier Division)

Oscar Williams

(On loan from Sutton Utd)

Young centre half signed on loan from Sutton Utd. Superb in the air, strong on the ground and an absolute giant. Looks to be a real talent.
Debut: 27/01/2024 v Ascot Utd (ILSC)

MIDFIELDERS

Noah Africa

Noah joined the club in the summer, having impressed in an early pre-season friendly against Cobham U23’s. A box to box midfielder with tremendous feet, maturity beyond his years, and not afraid to mix it with the older players. Noah made his debut as a 16 year old in the FA Cup this season. Still at school, Noah is part of our exciting U18’s team, and forms a solid midfield partnership for that side, with another first teamer in Matty Feeney-Hill.
Debut: 05/08/2023 v Burgess Hill Town (FA Cup)

Daryl Coleman

Rooney is everyone’s favourite uncle, and joined this season with a seriously impressive pedigree at Step 4, with Tooting & Mitcham Utd, Chipstead, Dorking Wanderers, Corinthian Casuals and Horsham amongst his previous side. Despite his off-field demeanour, Rooney takes no prisoners and asks no quarter. Add into the mix a great eye for a pass, and a delicious strike of a ball and Rooney is the ideal midfielder. His experience is vital for the younger lads and he is always happy to pass on words of wisdom. Missed the start of the season due to an injury picked up in pre-season.
Debut: 07/10/2023 v Southall (ILSC)

Max Oldham

One of the senior members of the squad Max is a player of real quality and maturity. Blistering pace, and an eye for goal, Max is a threat to any backline. Previous clubs include Sheppey Utd, Corinthian Casuals and Redhill. Off the pitch Max is well known for his Half Turn project which looks to enhance the mental well-being of non league footballers, and works in partnership with the Isthmian league.
Debut: 04/03/2023 v Binfield (ILSC)

Ashley Sheppard

Joined this season from Corinthian of the Southern Counties East League, having previously been with Sheppey Utd and Redhill amongst others. Happy anywhere in the middle of the park, Ash is a box to box midfielder, with a range of passing and an eye for goal. Became a fans favourite with his 97th minute winner against Guernsey
Debut: 28/08/23 v Marlow (ILSC)

FORWARDS

Aaron Jenkins

AJ showed in pre-season that he could be a real force in our attacking line up, and chipped in with some important goals early in the season. Last season he hit 17 goals at Lingfield in the Southern Combination Premier Division, before moving to a strong Colliers Wood side during the season.
Debut: 05/08/2023 v Burgess Hill Town (FA Cup)

Charlie Martin

The oldest 19 year old on the planet. Charlie is a player who it feels has been around forever at this level, but has actually only been playing senior football for the last couple of seasons. Good eye for goal, and scored our first goal of this season, a stoppage time equaliser in the FA Cup. His hat-trick saw off Chipstead earlier in the season:
Debut: 05/08/2023 v Burgess Hill Town (FA Cup)

Lindell Stewart

Exciting young forward signed from Marlow. Bags of pace and an eye for goal, Lindell certainly keeps defences on their toes. Former clubs include Northwood, Ashford Town (Middx) and Windsor & Eton
Debut: 28/10/2023 v Hartley Wintney (ILSC)

Mal Thomas

Debut: 09/02/2018 v Colliers Wood Utd (CCL)

Conan Torpey

Powerful central striker who’s run of goals at the back end of last season played a huge part in keeping us at step 4. Brave as they come, and never gives defenders a minutes peace.
Unfortunately his all action style has left him susceptible to injury and he is currently sidelined until the new year. Previously with Dorking Wanderers Reserves.
Debut: 28/01/2023 v Walton & Hersham (ILSC)

Ollie Twum

Now in his second spell with the club having joined us originally back in the 2018/19 season. Bags of pace, and an eye for goal, Ollie left for Walton & Hersham, and played a big part in the move through the divisions. Was most recently at South Park, but returned to us this year, and is closing in on 100 appearances for the club.
Debut: 04/08/2018 v Knaphill (CCLP)
