The U18’s maintained their 100% record in the league last night with a thrilling 5-3 win over a dogged Tonbridge Angels side last night.

We made a bright start and took an early lead, and increased our lead midway through the half, when a sweeping move and neat finish put us 2-0 up. Tonbridge came roaring back though and a neat finish when one on one bought them back to 2-1, and shortly before half time they were level, capitalising on a mistake at the back. However any thoughts of the sides going in level at the break were dashed late in the half when a neat through ball lead to a thumping finish and us 3-2 ahead.

We increased our lead early in the second half, a sweeping move down the left ending with a subliime finish that gave the keeper no chance. Once again Tonbridge refused to buckle and reduced the arrears with about fifteen minutes remaing to set up a tense finish.

We finally secured all three points late on, when a powerful strike wasn’t dealt with by the Tonbridge keeper and the loose ball poked home from close range to give us a 5-3 win.

Our goalscorers were Abdul Sbaiti 2, Matty Hill 2 and George Vincent (apologies but not at the game so not sure of the order the goals were scored in).

Next up for the lads is an Isthmian Youth Cup clash with Hampton & Richmond Borough on the 10th.

Elsewhere in the division there were four games on Tuesday, with wins for Ashford Utd, Cray Valley PM, Maidstone Utd and Sheppey Utd
