18’S ON TOP FORM TO SEE OFF CRAY VALLEY PM

The U18’s turned in their best performance of the season when picking up a well deserved 2-0 win away at reigning Youth East champions Cray Valley PM.

Add into the mix this was Crays first defeat at home in the league since March 2022, when it was our lads who were again victorious on their way to the title, and it shows what an outstanding result this was.

We had much the better of the first half, but neither keeper was seriously tested and the side went in level at 0-0 at the half time break.

Early in the second half and we opened the scoring, a long free kick bounced between the Cray defence and goalkeeper and Yuto Ouen was able to lob the keeper to put us 1-0 up.

The goal galvanised Cray and they started to put us under more and more pressure but they were unable to seriously test our keeper, and we confirmed the win late on. A quick break saw a shot well saved but Kodai Fujita was on hand to fire home the loose ball and give us all three points.

The result has moved us up to 3rd spot in the table, behind Cray on goal difference, but with a game in hand, and three points off leaders Welling Utd with four games in hand.

Our next game is on the 13th December when we host Corinthians.
