A last gasp strike by Josiah Harris-Manahan took the U18’s into the 2nd Qualifying Round of this seasons FA Youth Cup, after a hard fought win over a very good Rusthall side on Wednesday.
With two good sides on show, chances were at a premium, and a well drilled and organised Rusthall hardly gave our lads any time on the ball. When we did get our usual free flowing football going we found their defence in excellent form.
The best chance of the first half fell to the visitors. A ball into the area led to a collision between our keeper and the Rusthall forward, with the end result a yellow card for us and a penalty kick for Rusthall. Fortunately fortune was on side, and the penalty was fired high over the bar.
The second half was equally tight, but with just over two minutes remaining the ball fell to Josiah Harris-Manahan and he fired home to put us into the next round.
