The U18’s slumped to a disappointing defeat away at fellow title chasers Sheppey Utd on Monday night.

With Sheppey eight points adrift of ourselves but with two games in hand this was always going to be a crunch battle.

After a tense first half, it was Sheppey who struck first, just five minutes before the break, when the lively Ezra Oloyede fired home to give them the lead. It got better for the home side when Oloyede notched his second on 65 minutes.

We continued to battle but Sheppey made it 3-0 on 74 minutes through Kenzie Monahan, and a late Matt Hill strike was little consolation for us.

With Cray Valley picking up an important win away at Tonbridge Angels, the title race is hotting up. We hold a four point advantage over Cray and five points over Sheppey but both sides have two games in hand.

This exciting title race is going to go down to the wire.

Next up for our lads is a home fixture against bottom placed K Sports next Monday.
