It’s never a good sign when one manager has to go in goal and the other has to play centre-back, and that summed up the night. A tough, underwhelming performance where we simply weren’t at the level required.
Credit to CB Hounslow – they were clinical, worked hard, and took full advantage of our defensive weaknesses and mistakes. Some of the football they played was sharp, and they punished us every time we switched off.
From our side, it wasn’t good enough. Defensively, we lacked resilience, and in possession, we didn’t do enough to control the game. We have to take responsibility as a team and learn from this. The only way forward is to regroup, put the work in, and ensure we never allow a performance like this to happen again.
