First team coach Liam Joyce has stepped down from his role and will be looking for football opportunities elsewhere.
Liam joined the club just under ten years ago taking charge of the reserves and leading them to a Surrey Elite League Challenge Cup success in his first season, alongside Mark Hargreaves. Liam was then struck down with cancer, but being the fighter he is successfully fought off the illness, so much so that in the following season he returned to sidelines providing the boost that the reserves needed to retain the cup.
When the Reserve team disbanded, Liam stepped up to the role of first team coach, and played an integral role alongside Darren Salmon and the rest of the management team as the club first won the Combined Counties Premier Challenge Cup and then secured promotion to the Isthmian League.
Whilst Liam’s footballing credentials are strong, they are nothing compared to the man he is. A kind, warm hearted person, an inspirational fighter and a friend to all of us.
Liam we will miss you, but we wish you all the best in your footballing career. The door will never be shut on any return to the club.
