Rovers picked up their first win since September when seeing off a spirited Binfield side this afternoon.

Rovers should have opened the scoring on three minutes, but after neat interplay between Conan Torpey and Matt Feeney-Hill, Nabeel Ghannam fired over from close range.

The game settled into a rather dour encounter, only sparking into life late in the half, when James Dillon was twiced forced into stunning saves to keep the scores level.

The Rovers keeper pulled out another superb save early in the second half, before Binfield finally took the lead on 53 minutes. A low cross being turned home by Dontaye Whittaker.

This had the effect of galvanising Rovers and they levelled three minutes later. A Courtney Swaby corner was fumbled by Harvey Rackley-Hayes, and volleyed home by Bert Lloyd. Three minutes later Rovers led, a challenge in the area between Torpey and Connor Jeanes saw the ball break to Ghannam who hammered the ball home.

It was 3-1 on 66 minutes, again Swaby was the provider, whipping in a dangerous cross which Feeney-Hill met with a thumping header.

Rovers completed the scoring late on with a glorious curled effort by Aaron Jenkins.
