Away to league leaders Chertsey Town, the first’s turned in probably their best performance of the season when picking up a point in a goalless draw.
Chertsey had won their last nine league games, and had a 100% record at home, whereas we had three defeats on the spin and a lacklustre performance last time out.
Probably buoyed by the usual suspects telling Sam that he was in for a 5-0 defeat, the lads were resolute, dug deep and worked together through the tough times.
Both sides had chances, although neither keeper would claim to be overworked. We went close late on when Matt Feeney-Hill dragged an effort just wide of the right hand post, whilst Chertsey had a penalty shout deep into stopaage time waved away.
