Introducing our new U23’s manager: Michael Talabi

We caught up with new U23’s manager Michael, to find out a bit about and what he hopes to bring to the new side.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I am incredibly grateful for the chance given to be the U23 manager for Sutton Common Rovers, It’s a great opportunity and I plan to become an asset to the club. My years of experience as a manager have been focused on nurturing young talents, a passion I’ve cultivated since my playing days at clubs like Greenwich Borough, Forest Hill Reserves, Kent United, Eltham Palace, and Meridian.

My management journey began at All Starz FC, where I spent the first three years of my career. It provided me with an invaluable platform to learn and grow, setting the stage for the role I hold today. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with remarkable individuals who now form part of my coaching team. Each of them has played a significant role in shaping me into the manager I am today.

My focus remains steadfast on supporting the first team and contributing to the club’s success in every possible way. While winning the CCL U23 division is undoubtedly a goal and a standard me and the management team have set ourselves, our primary aim is to ensure a seamless transition for players from the U23 squad to the first team and to support the first team in any way we can. We are eager to uphold the tradition of excellence set by the club and embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the CCL U23 division”

Michael will be coming on board, with an impressive backroom team, consisting of Assistant Manager Wale Dauda; Head of Player Recruitment Ryan Riess Bailey; Keeper Coach and Sports Injury Treatment Alex Abela; Coaches Madju Kinona and Uche Ibreme and Young Player Development Manager Elabbas Eltigani

A very warm welcome to the club gents
