MATCH PREVIEW: A v STEYNING TOWN COMMUNITY (FA CUP)

It’s one of the most exciting weeks of the season, as we make our bow in this seasons FA Cup.

With promotion last year we were fortunate enough to miss out on the extra preliminary round, so we enter this seasons competition at the preliminary round stage.

Our opponents this weekend are Steyning Town Community and they progressed through the extra preliminary round thanks to a thrilling 3-2 win over Pagham in their replay, after the first game was drawn 2-2.

Steyning currently sit in 8th spot in the Southern Combination Premier Division table, having recorded two wins (away at Eastbourne Utd Association 3-1 and at home to Loxwood 3-0), one draw (away at AFC Uckfield Town 1-1) and one defeat (at home to one of the title favourites Littlehampton Town 6-0).

Steyning’s ground is The Birchwood Ground, and is a 3G surface.

Darren has a decent squad available, and has been boosted by the news that both Danny Fernandez and Adam Allen are back in contention, having missed a lot of pre-season.

Address is: The Birchwood Ground, Shooting Field, Steyning, West Sussex, BN44 3RQ.

We have been advised that their is limited car parking at the ground, and we would be best to park in Tanyard Lane opposite the Medical Centre (BN44 3RJ) and take the short walk through the alley off Breach Close (a recent trip to Steyning saw me park in Fletchers Croft Car Park, which again is only a short walk from the ground, and costs £1.50 for 4 hours).

Admission is: £7 (Concs £4 U16s £1)
