Rovers picked up a vital three points on Saturday with a hard-fought win over a strong Ascot Utd side.

Sam Morgan made several changes to the side that had lost narrowly at Southall, with Oscar Williams and Mal Thomas coming in for debuts, whilst skipper Matt Tanton was back after suspension.

Ascot started brightly and a fizzed early effort just cleared Sam Roberts goal. The only goal of the game came on 35 minutes, Ollie Twum was felled in the area, and Max Oldham converted the resultant spot kick.

Both sides had chances in the second half, but there was no further scoring and a vital three points secured.
