ROVERS SLIP TO DISAPPOINTING DEFEAT

After a bright run of performances and points being picked up against the promotion chasers, the lads were bought back down to earth by bogey side Guernsey this afternoon.

Our early season win were the only points we have taken in five attempts against the Green Lions. This afternoon we started brightly, with Max Oldham putting us ahead on six minutes. It was a short lived advantage as Ross Allen levelled things up from the spot on ten minutes.

With the sides level at the break, it was Guernsey who struck first in the second half with Matt Loaring firing them ahead on the hour, and it looked as though it would be a return to the norm, with Guernsey winning, but then in the 86th minute Aaron Jenkins struck to seemingly give us a point.

But no, just two minutes later and Ross Allen fired the Green Lions ahead and a minute later Samuel Murrey sealed the win and our fate.
