FIRST’S SEE OFF THE BOYS IN BLUE

First half goals from Max Oldham and Ben Holden gave the first team a deserved win over Met Police this afternoon.

Rovers started positively but were unable to force an early breakthrough, and gradually the Police came back into the game, and for a ten minute spell started to dominate.

Rovers struck the opening blow just shy of the half hour, Tyrese Osbourne threading the ball through a gap to Oldham who calmly slotted under the on-rushing Liam Beach. It was 2-0 shortly after, Ben Holdens effort was on target and a slight deflection looped it over the keeper for 2-0 and his first goal for the club (despite what his supportive team mates might say!).

The second half was a cagey affair with neither side able to hit the back of the net, although young keeper Sam Roberts did well at the feet of Mason Galloway.

Full report to follow.
