Darren Salmon says: Sutton Common Rovers are happy to have appointed joint first team player manager Lee Flavin for the upcoming 22/23 season

Since his arrival around Christmas Lee Flavin has been highly influential both on and off the pitch with his can do attitude.

Lee has been busy networking to set new improved standards in a bid to improve the club as a whole not just on first team football matters.

Lee’s positive approach at a challenging time for the club brought a breath of fresh air, especially to myself.

Whilst Lee’s predominantly been known for being successful in the non-league recruitment world, regularly placing players & management staff higher up the pyramid, last season the players he bought into SCR played a huge part in keeping us up, which is great news for the whole club, as securing our step 4 status was a major objective.

Since joining SCR Lee & I have developed a great relationship both on/off the pitch, which has been highly enjoyable, it’s fair to say I now consider Lee a very good friend, I am super grateful for all his efforts.

I must particularly applaud Lee’s man management which has taken a weight off my shoulders, stepping in as needed & showing he’s more then capable of taking the reigns during my occasional absence through work, this all has culminated in my decision to bring Lee up to joint 1st manager for the coming season.

We both can’t wait to get started, especially moving to Whyteleafe for this new club chapter…
